A 42-day mega block has been enforced for the repair of the Kanpur bridge on the Lucknow-Kanpur section of Northern Railway. During this period, 56 trains will be affected, including 14 cancelled, 10 limited to Kanpur, and 32 diverted. Several major trains, including the Shatabdi and Vande Bharat Express, will be diverted, causing inconvenience to passengers.

Senior DCM Kuldeep Tiwari said here on Friday that this block will be in effect from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm daily( 8 hours daily) from April 2 to May 13, 2026. The Mega Traffic and Power Block has been undertaken for the removal of Steel Trough and Replacement of H-Beam Sleepers at Bridge No. 110 (Down Line).

During this period, 56 trains will be affected, with 14 trains, including the Jhansi-Lucknow Memu, cancelled. Ten trains going to and from Lucknow will operate from Kanpur only. 32 trains will be stopped en route and diverted.

Senior DCM stated that the 64701/02 Jhansi-Lucknow-Jhansi MEMU, 54153/44 Kanpur-Raebareli-Kanpur Passenger, 64212 Kanpur-Lucknow MEMU, 64255 Uttaretia-Kanpur MEMU, 54101/02 Prayagraj-Kanpur-Prayagraj Passenger, 54325/26 Sitapur-Kanpur-Sitapur Passenger, 55345 Lucknow-Kasganj Passenger, 64203 Lucknow-Kanpur MEMU, and 64214 Kanpur-Lucknow MEMU will remain cancelled.

A total of 10 trains going to Lucknow will originate from Kanpur. These include the 12179/80 Agra Fort-Lucknow-Agra Fort Intercity, the 12103/04 Pune-Lucknow Junction-Pune Express, the 22121/22 Lucknow-LTT-Lucknow Express, and the 11109/10 Jhansi-Lucknow Junction-Jhansi Intercity. The 54335/36 Balamau-Kanpur-Balamau Passenger will arrive at Unnao and depart from there. The 12107 LTT-Sitapur Express will depart Kanpur Central with a delay of 210 minutes.

The diverted trains include 12004 New Delhi-Lucknow Junction Shatabdi Express, 22426 Anand Vihar-Ayodhya Vande Bharat, 02563/64 Barauni-New Delhi-Barauni Clone Special, 02569/70 Dibrugarh-New Delhi-Dibrugarh Clone Special, 19615 Kaviguru Express, 20921 Bandra Terminus-Lucknow Junction Express will operate via diverted routes and will not go to Kanpur.

The trains which will not come to Lucknow include 12876 Anand Vihar-Puri Neelachal Express, 19053 Muzaffarpur Express, 15270 Jansadharan Express, 09465 Ahmedabad-Dibrugarh Clone Special, 13238 Kota-Patna Express, 13240 Kota-Patna Express, 15734 Farakka Express, 15744 Farakka Express, 11079 LTT-Gorakhpur Express, 15066 Panvel-Gorakhpur Express, 15046 Okha-Gorakhpur Express, 22534 Yesvantpur-Gorakhpur Express, 15024 Yesvantpur-Gorakhpur Express, 12598 Antyodaya Express, 15030 Pune-Gorakhpur Express, 12173 LTT-Pratapgarh Express, 12143 LTT-Sultanpur Express, 19201 Ayodhya Cantt Express and 12183 Bhopal-Pratapgarh Superfast.
