Acharya Balkrishna, a prominent scientist and distinguished Ayurvedic scholar renowned for advancing Ayurveda and natural medicine both nationally and internationally, has received the “SFE Outstanding National Ethno-Pharmacologist Award.” This honour was awarded at the 13th International Congress of the Society for Ethnopharmacology and the International Conference on Translational Research in Ethnopharmacology—Integrating Traditional Medicine in Modern Healthcare, held at the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Mohali.

This esteemed award is presented by the Society for Ethnopharmacology (SFE), India, recognising researchers who have made significant contributions to research and development in ethnopharmacology and traditional medicines. During the event, Acharya Balkrishna shared that this recognition isn’t just a personal achievement but a proud moment for Ayurveda and India as a whole. He highlighted that Patanjali is dedicated to revitalising Ayurveda and making healthcare accessible and affordable for everyone.

During the event, Dr Anurag Varshney, Chief Scientist at Patanjali, emphasised that Acharya
Balkrishna’s achievement highlights Patanjali’s continued commitment to scientifically validating and progressing Ayurveda. Under his leadership, the company has initiated numerous research projects to reinterpret Ayurveda with a modern scientific approach.

Dr. Varshney also mentioned that Acharya Balkrishna Jee has consistently received recognition for his research, including being ranked among the top 2% of scientists worldwide by Stanford University and Elsevier for multiple years.

Receiving the honour, Patanjali described it as a key milestone in the scientific revival of Ayurveda and natural medicine.
