Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who arrived in Tel Aviv for a two-day state visit, will be treated to a specially curated menu that uniquely blends Indian and Israeli flavours. From pearl millet rotis to freshly prepared hummus and falafel, several dishes are being prepared for the Indian PM to reflect the shared culinary traditions of the two countries.

“We have prepared Gujarati food. And we got special permission to make this because last time I couldn’t make much Gujarati food,” news agency ANI quoted Pushkarna as saying.

She said that her team has arranged it with dry fruits, pearl millet flour, and millets. “We will serve it freshly made and hot,” She added.

Alongside traditional Gujarati dishes, the Prime Minister will also be offered vegetarian Israeli specialities. “We will also feed him some Israeli food. Hummus, tahina, and falafel — these are known worldwide and are purely vegetarian. Local shakshuka or salad, without eggs. We will try to have him taste those as well,” she said.

Earlier today, Modi received a Guard of Honour upon his arrival at Ben Gurion Airport. Netanyahu, accompanied by his wife Sara Netanyahu, personally welcomed the Prime Minister.

The two Prime Ministers exchanged a warm hug upon arrival. The Israeli Prime Minister shared a video of PM Modi’s arrival on X. “Welcome to Israel, my dear friend @narendramodi,” he wrote in the post.

Blind Indian singer Dina Semte and the Shalva band to perform for PM Modi in Israel

The historic visit of PM Modi to Israel is being marked by poignant cultural milestones, highlighting the deep human and artistic connections that bridge the two nations. Dina Semte, a blind Indian singer, and the renowned Shalva band will perform for PM Modi.

“I come from Manipur, India. After 6 years of age, I became blind. I came to Israel from India when I was around 12 years old. I am happy that I am performing in front of PM Modi. Music connects everyone. This is very special for me,” said Dina Semte.
