The visit of Seychelles President Patrick Herminie to Agra, scheduled for Tuesday, has been cancelled.
According to information received from the Archaeological Department, Dr Herminie was scheduled to arrive in Agra with his wife on Tuesday morning to visit the Taj Mahal, but the visit was cancelled just before his arrival.

Following the cancellation of the foreign dignitary’s visit, the Taj Mahal was opened to general visitors.
In view of President Dr Herminie’s proposed visit, the Taj Mahal would have been closed for general visitors for three hours and reopened at around 12 noon.
A peacock dance was also planned to showcase Indian culture. Security agencies had made elaborate arrangements for this visit, and CISF personnel were deployed inside the Taj Mahal for the purpose.
