Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday interacted with students during the second episode of the ninth edition of Pariksha Pe Charcha, urging them to think beyond exams and align their habits with India’s long-term development goals. The interaction, held as part of the annual outreach programme ahead of the exam season, focused on leadership, innovation, technology, and the mindset needed to build a developed India by 2047.
Addressing students from different parts of the country, the Prime Minister underlined that age should not be seen as a barrier to innovation. “… Startup does not need the age of 25, it can be started anytime… Students should reach out to industry professionals and understand how they work…” he said, encouraging young people to learn directly from real-world experience.

He also spoke about the importance of forward-looking thinking, noting the optimism he sees among students today. “… I am glad that the students in my country envision for 2047… If we want to become a developed country, we have to align our habits with it…” Modi said, linking personal discipline and everyday choices to the larger national vision.
PM Modi on leadership, AI and responsible use of technology
During the interaction, the Prime Minister cautioned students against becoming overly dependent on technology, while at the same time urging them not to fear it. “… We should not become slaves to technology… We must expand our potential through technology… We don’t need to be scared of AI…” he said.
Speaking on leadership, Modi told students that leadership is not limited to politics or elections. “… To become a leader, develop a mindset to take initiative… A leader does not only mean contesting elections, but a good leader should communicate ideas clearly and effectively…” he said, stressing communication and initiative as essential qualities.
Adding a cultural touch to the interaction, the Prime Minister also shared traditional Chhattisgarh snacks, Thethri and Khurmi, with students during the session.
Record registrations and growing reach
Pariksha Pe Charcha, organised by the Ministry of Education, was launched in 2018 to help students deal with exam-related stress and see examinations as part of a broader learning process rather than a source of fear.
Recent sessions have seen strong participation from states such as Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Tamil Nadu, and Assam.
PM Modi has always told students not to fear examinations. He has also spoken about discipline, everyday habits, and staying steady when pressure builds.
With board and competitive exams drawing closer, today’s second episode is expected to carry that message forward.
