Praising Rahul Gandhi as a “strong voice against communalism” and a leader with a “clear political stand”, Tharoor said he is a person who accepts Rahul Gandhi’s leadership.
“I am in the Congress, and I am not going anywhere. I will be part of the Kerala campaign and work for the UDF’s victory. I will be at the forefront, leading the Congress in the upcoming Kerala Assembly elections,” he said.
The Thiruvananthapuram MP said he is not someone who always opposes everything. While the media interpreted his stance on certain issues as tilting towards the BJP, Tharroor clarified, “Those statements were in the interest of the country.”
When asked by media persons about reports that he held talks with the BJP and CPM, Tharoor said, “I am not going anywhere.” What is the media’s problem with me? I don’t understand why I am the only one being asked about this.”
