He stated that in the review meeting of the Stamp and Registration Department held on August 28, chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, instructions were given to effectively curb registrations being carried out by fraudulent individuals during property registration.

Mr Jaiswal said that in pursuance of these instructions, the Uttar Pradesh Online Document Registration Rules have been implemented using the powers under Section 69 of the Registration Act, 1908.

The Minister of State informed that the Aadhaar authentication system will be implemented from February 1, 2026. After this, the identity of the parties and witnesses will be mandatorily verified through Aadhaar during property registration.

He said that the implementation of this system will prevent registration by fraudulent individuals, increase transparency and reliability in the registration process, reduce cases of land and property fraud, and strengthen the digital registration system. It will also reduce court cases and accelerate the state government’s digital governance goals.
