The United States President Donald Trump today extended greetings to India on the occasion of its 77th Republic Day, underscoring the historic democratic ties between the two countries.
In a message, the US President extended heartfelt congratulations to the government and people of India, noting that the United States and India share a historic relationship as the world’s oldest and largest democracies.

The US Embassy in India shared Trump’s message on the social media platform X: “On behalf of the people of the United States, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the government and people of India as you celebrate your 77th Republic Day. The United States and India share a historic bond as the world’s oldest and largest democracies.”

Earlier today, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio had extended greetings to the people of India. He highlighted how the US-India relationship delivers real results for the two countries and for the Indo-Pacific region. He also expressed his desire to work together with India to advance shared objectives in the year ahead.
Also, US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor conveyed his wishes on the Republic Day. Expressing his delight over the sight of the US-made aircraft flying in the Indian sky during the Republic Day Parade, he said he was honoured to attend the parade for the first time. He referred to it as a powerful symbol of the growing US-India strategic partnership.
He wrote on X: “Happy Republic Day, India! Honoured to attend the Republic Day Parade for the first time, a celebration of India’s Constitution and democratic spirit. Thrilled to see the U.S.-made aircraft soaring in the Indian sky, a powerful symbol of the strength of the U.S.-India strategic partnership.”
The 77th Republic Day parade was held earlier today at Kartavya Path with a magnificent display of India’s military might and diverse culture.
