Sometimes, it’s not an interview, not a statement, not even a shady caption. Just one tiny Instagram “like” that makes the internet lose its mind. That’s exactly what happened with Cruz Beckham. The 20-year-old musician may not have said a word, but his finger did all the talking.
Cruz recently liked an Instagram Reel that pokes fun at his mother Victoria Beckham and a very awkward moment from his brother Brooklyn Beckham’s wedding.

And yes, fans noticed.
So what exactly did Cruz Beckham like? And why is it causing so much buzz? Let’s break it down.
The Instagram reel that started it all
The video in question was posted by comedian and content creator Olly Hume. In the Reel, Hume jokingly reenacts moment from Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz’s wedding in April 2022, held in Palm Beach, Florida.
In the skit, Olly pretends to be the wedding DJ and announces, “And now for the song requested by the mother of the groom for her first dance with her son.” What plays next? Ginuwine’s “Pony”, a song famously linked to bold, provocative dance scenes.
The comedian captioned the Reel with, “Interesting moves Victoria,” along with hashtags related to the Beckham wedding and comedy.
And then Cruz liked it.
Netizens spot Cruz’s “like” and react fast
It didn’t take long for social media users to notice Cruz Beckham’s reaction. The comments section quickly filled up with shocked and amused responses.
“Cruz Beckham likes this tho,” one user pointed out. Another added, “The fact Cruz has liked this.”
Some fans saw it as confirmation that the Beckham family rift is very real. Others praised Cruz for having a sense of humour and not taking things too seriously.
Brooklyn Beckham’s wedding dance allegation explained
The Reel directly refers to Brooklyn Beckham’s recent Instagram post, where he finally spoke openly about his strained relationship with his parents, Victoria and David Beckham.
In his statement, Brooklyn claimed that his mother interrupted his planned first dance with his wife, Nicola Peltz. According to him, the dance had been carefully planned weeks in advance to a romantic love song.
But things didn’t go as expected.
Brooklyn wrote that singer Marc Anthony called him to the stage during the wedding reception. He believed it was time for his romantic first dance with Nicola. Instead, he found his mother waiting there.
“In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where, according to the schedule, I was supposed to have my romantic dance with my wife. But instead, my mum was waiting to dance with me,” Brooklyn shared.
He further alleged that Victoria danced with him “very inappropriately” in front of everyone.
“I never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life,” he added.
Why Brooklyn and Nicola renewed their vows
Brooklyn also revealed that he and Nicola renewed their wedding vows in August 2025, more than three years after their original wedding.
The reason? They wanted to replace painful memories with happier ones.
“We wanted to renew our vows so we could create new memories of our wedding day that bring us joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment,” Brooklyn wrote.
