Bangladesh Women continued their dominant run in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifier 2026 with a massive 80-run victory over Namibia Women at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground, Kirtipur, on Thursday.
After Namibia won the toss and elected to field, Bangladesh posted a competitive 144 for 7 in their 20 overs on a bowler-friendly surface. Sobhana Mostary anchored the innings with a composed 27 off 23 balls, while Dilara Akter provided late momentum with a brisk 25 off 17 deliveries. Namibia’s bowling effort was led by Sylvia Shihepo, who finished with figures of 2 for 21.

In reply, Namibia struggled from the outset against Bangladesh’s disciplined bowling attack and were bowled out for just 64 runs in 17.5 overs. Captain Sune Wittmann was the top scorer for Namibia with 19 runs, but little resistance followed as wickets fell at regular intervals.

Sanjida Akter Meghla was the standout performer with the ball, returning impressive figures of 4 for 14. She was well supported by Rabeya Khan and Fahima Khatun, who picked up three wickets apiece to dismantle Namibia’s batting line-up.
The match officials for the encounter were Saleema Imtiaz and Vijaya Mallela as on-field umpires, with Helen Pack serving as the referee.
This win marked Bangladesh’s third successive victory in the tournament, following earlier wins over the United States by 21 runs and Papua New Guinea by 30 runs. Namibia, meanwhile, will need to regroup quickly after back-to-back defeats as the Global Qualifier progresses.
