A clip from one of his Delhi shows went viral on social media, and it quickly caught fire for all the wrong reasons. In the video, Honey Singh allegedly made remarks that many found offensive.

What did Yo Yo Honey Singh say?

The video shows Honey Singh speaking at a live event hosted by Nanku and Karun. While he tried to deliver a health-related message, the way it came across in the clip left a large portion of the audience uncomfortable. Some said his language was obscene, while others called it inappropriate for a mixed-age crowd.

Honey Singh responds with apology

By Thursday night, Honey Singh took to Instagram to address the controversy. In a video, he claimed that the viral clip had been edited and shared out of context. Still, he acknowledged that many people were hurt by it.

“A video of mine has been going viral on Instagram since morning, edited in a way that’s offended many people. I want to tell you the whole story…” he began, trying to explain his side.

He revealed that his remarks were inspired by earlier conversations with leading gynaecologists and sexologists. They had discussed the rising concerns of sexually transmitted diseases among young people due to unprotected sex.

According to Honey Singh, he was trying to pass this message to a Gen Z-heavy audience, in a language he thought they would understand, reflecting the OTT content they consume.

While he stood by his intentions, Honey Singh admitted that his delivery missed the mark. “My intention was never to hurt, insult, or offend anyone,” he said. “However, I deeply regret that the way I expressed this message was inappropriate and not acceptable to many. I offer my heartfelt apologies to everyone who felt hurt or disrespected.”

The rapper also made a personal promise. “Main apni zubaan pe niyantran rakhunga. Going forward, I assure you that I will be far more mindful and responsible in my words and actions,” he added.
