Vijay Hazare Trophy: Ravindra Jadeja stars with 19th List A fifty as Saurashtra post 383/4 vs Gujarat

Ravindra Jadeja played a vital knock for Saurashtra, scoring an unbeaten 52 against Gujarat in their Vijay Hazare Trophy group-stage match on January 8 in Alur.

With the final round of the group stage concluding today, Jadeja’s innings proved crucial. He crossed his half-century off just 39 balls, hitting four fours and two sixes. It was his 19th half-century in List A cricket, providing a strong finishing boost to Saurashtra’s total and underlining his form ahead of his return to the Indian national team.

In his previous match on January 6, 2026, against Services, Jadeja had scored an unbeaten 36 off 31 balls and also picked up 1 for 48 in 10 overs, continuing his impressive run in the tournament.

Earlier, Prerak Mankad’s dismissal after a brisk 86 off 49 balls left Saurashtra at 285/3. Ravindra Jadeja then combined with Chirag Jani to add a valuable 95-run partnership, steadying the innings, with Jani contributing 43 runs as Saurashtra posted a strong total of 383/4.

Jadeja’s good form has earned him selection in the India vs New Zealand ODI squad. The three-match series will begin on January 11 at the BCA Stadium, Kotambi, Vadodara, followed by matches on January 14 in Rajkot and January 18 in Indore.
