“Beyond the very solid trade relationship that we have, many of the most important issues of our times—fintech, space, the entire digital world and AI—are areas where we can collaborate far more productively than we have so far. I look forward to today’s meeting and our discussions. The state of the world is particularly interesting at this time, and I am sure we will both benefit from a very open exchange of views,” Jaishankar said.
The EAM noted that India considers Luxembourg an important partner and thanked Bettel for being a strong advocate of deeper ties between India and the European Union.
“As you rightly noted, we are now marking 78 years of our relationship, and we have come a long way. For us, Luxembourg is a very important partner in its own right, and also within the European Union, especially at a crucial time in the evolution of our ties with the EU,” he said.
“So, the influence you have in shaping that broader relationship, and the support you extend, is of great value to us. I thank you for that, as you have, in many ways, been a strong advocate of deepening ties between India and the European Union,” Jaishankar added.
