Big numbers, big love from viewers

Season 5 clocked a massive 26.8 million views worldwide in just 11 days. That figure comes from 155 million hours watched, divided by the season’s total runtime of 5 hours and 47 minutes.

For Netflix, those numbers are a loud green signal.

From Paris to Rome… and back again

This season took Emily (played by Lily Collins) on a stylish detour to Italy. She opened a satellite office for her marketing agency in Rome, soaked in the romance, and yes, found herself a new love interest.

But in classic Emily fashion, the fairy tale didn’t last forever. By the end of the season, she made a bold choice: Paris over Italy.

Why Emily chose Paris over romance

Series creator Darren Star explained Emily’s big decision clearly. Speaking to ‘The Hollywood Reporter’, he said Emily finally chose her life, her work, and everything she fought to build in Paris.

According to him, Paris is no longer a stopover for Emily. It’s home. That realisation, he said, helped her understand where her heart truly belongs.

What about Gabriel? The door is still open

Now for the question fans can’t stop asking: Emily and Gabriel. Is it really over?

Not quite.

Darren Star teased that while there may not be an instant reunion between Emily and chef Gabriel (played by Lucas Bravo), their story isn’t done yet. He hinted that sometimes people drift apart only to find their way back later.

Hope, officially, is still alive.

Darren Star gets a French honour

While Emily keeps winning hearts on screen, Darren Star earned a major honour off screen. In December, the French President Emmanuel Macron awarded him the Chevalier de la Legion d’Honneur, France’s highest civilian honour. Not bad for a man who turned Paris into Netflix’s most fashionable playground.

Emily in Paris Season 6: Cast and Release Date

Season 5 featured a packed cast, including Lily Collins, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Ashley Park, Lucas Bravo, Lucien Laviscount, and even Minnie Driver.

Many familiar faces are expected to return as Emily’s world continues to expand in Season 6. The release date is still under wraps.
