The cricketer displayed the Palestine flag on his helmet when he was batting. The incident happened during a match between JK11 Kings and Jammu Trailblazers in the ongoing Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) Champions League cricket tournament.

The video of the player immediately went viral, and the netizens in Jammu sought action.
In a statement on Friday, the Jammu Police said that an inquiry has been initiated into the matter.
According to the Police statement, “Yesterday, a video circulating on social media shows a cricket player, namely Furqan Ul Haq S/o Tajamul Hussain Bhat R/o Tangipuna, Pulwama, playing cricket at KC Door, Muthi, while displaying a Palestine logo on his helmet. In view of the sensitivity of the matter and its potential public order implications, a 14-day preliminary inquiry under Section 173(3) BNSS has been initiated at PS Domana to ascertain the facts, intent, background of the individual, and any possible linkages”.
