The evaluation covered multiple parameters, including analysis of the CCTNS database, crime statistics, crimes against women and vulnerable sections, disposal of registered cases and charge-sheeting efficiency.
Infrastructure, cleanliness, availability of IT and forensic resources, police communication systems, digital record management, proactive initiatives and citizen feedback were also taken into account. The conduct and public interface of police personnel formed an important component of the assessment.
Based on its overall performance across these indicators, Chowka police station secured the fourth rank nationally and topped the state ranking in Jharkhand.
Superintendent of Police Mukesh Kumar Lunayat congratulated the then officer-in-charge Bajrang Mahto and the officers and personnel posted at Chowka police station for the achievement. He said the recognition reflected the discipline, commitment and service-oriented approach of the district police force.
He added that the ranking was not only a recognition of one police station’s performance but also a reflection of the professionalism and efficiency of the Jharkhand Police, and would serve as motivation to further strengthen public-focused policing in the state.
