Samajwadi Party (SP) national president Akhilesh Yadav has launched a scathing attack on the BJP’s organizational decisions, saying they were not based on merit or experience, but on a hegemonic mindset.

He questioned the rationale behind appointing a five-time MLA as national president and a seven-time MP as state president.

In a post on his social media account on Friday, Yadav said in politics and governance, it is generally accepted that an MP is greater than an MLA, the Central government’s responsibility is broader than that of a state, and a Central minister is considered superior to a state minister. Hence, the BJP’s recent decisions are inconsistent with established political logic or democratic tradition.

He alleged that the BJP has no compelling reason to justify this decision, claiming that the only thinking behind it is that a person from the PDA (Backward, Dalit, and Minority) community, no matter how qualified, experienced, and popular he might be, will not be allowed to advance beyond a certain point.

He said the BJP has adopted this new tactic to humiliate and marginalize the PDA community. This decision is not just an insult to one individual, but to the entire PDA community. The BJP is consistently signaling that the dominant class will retain control over power and organization.

Akhilesh Yadav stated unequivocally that the PDA community will no longer tolerate this insult. He said that the time has come for the community to unite and stand up for their respect, rights, and share. The Samajwadi Party will become the voice of the PDA community and fight for their self-respect.

Recently, the BJP has appointed Nitin Naveen, a five-time MLA and Bihar minister as party national working president while Union Minister and 7-time Lok Sabha member Pankaj Choudhury was elected as UP BJP president.
