After the successful organization of Mahakumbh-2025, the Uttar Pradesh government is now rapidly moving towards giving Magh Mela-2026 an unprecedented, organized, and aesthetically pleasing form.

This time, it is estimated that 12 to 15 crore devotees will take a holy dip at the Sangam in Prayagraj, including lakhs of Kalpavasis (devotees who reside at the site for a month) who will be present daily.

According to officials here on Wednesday, the entire fair area will be based on a color-coordinated theme. Each sector will provide a sense of uniformity. To give the fair a cohesive and attractive look, all seven sectors and seven pontoon bridges will be decorated with colors corresponding to the “seven energy chakras.”

A 3-foot-wide demarcation strip will be created along the boundary of each sector, making the fair visually clear, organized, and aesthetically pleasing. The emblem of the Uttar Pradesh government and Magh Mela-2026 will be displayed in all sectors.

The changing rooms available at various ghats will also be designed according to the sector-wise color scheme. They will have double the capacity compared to before, matching the color schemes. Now, instead of 2 people, 4 people will be able to use the facility simultaneously in each unit. This will make crowd management smoother and more convenient, and maintain the uniformity of the fair.

All seven pontoon bridges will be decorated with the seven colors of the rainbow. Lights on the bridges and LED lights on the poles will display religious symbols, making them an attraction both day and night. Flags matching the colors of each bridge will be installed. Canopies will be constructed on the bridges, keeping in mind the convenience and safety of the pilgrims.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed that the Magh Mela-2026 should not only be a symbol of religious fervor but also set an example for fair organizers across the country in terms of cleanliness, security, traffic management, medical facilities, and modern infrastructure. Under the Chief Minister’s guidance, the fair administration is committed to providing pilgrims with a safe, organized, spiritual, and world-class experience.
