The Allahabad High Court has posted the date of the next hearing to January 16 in the case related to the demand for a scientific survey by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) of the ablution area (wazukhana) located in the Gyanvapi complex in Varanasi.
Due to the Supreme Court’s stay order, arguments could not be held as the Supreme Court, through an interim order, has restrained the courts from passing any effective interim or final order, including survey orders.

The case was heard by a single bench of Justice Rohit Ranjan Agarwal, who fixed January 16 as the next date of hearing.
The revision application has been filed in the High Court by Rakhi Singh, the main petitioner in the Shringar Gauri case. Rakhi Singh has challenged the Varanasi Civil Court’s decision of October 21, 2023, in the Allahabad High Court.
Through this petition, a demand has been made for a scientific survey of the ablution area, similar to the rest of the Gyanvapi complex.
