The disruption of IndiGo flights in Lucknow’s Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport continued on Sunday for the fifth consecutive day with 26 flights to and from Lucknow airport being cancelled.
In their complaint, many passengers said while flights were shown as normal on the online system and even boarding passes were downloadable, upon arrival at the airport, they were notified about their cancellations.

The Passengers allege that they are not being given advance notice or receiving ticket refunds.
Many flyers who were traveling for weddings, meetings, or other purposes are stranded in Lucknow. Additionally, many expatriate travelers, who returned from abroad on vacation, are unable to return for their jobs, facing additional financial burdens due to hotel, taxi, and other expenses.
Over the past four days, the IndiGo counter at the Lucknow airport witnessed numerous arguments and altercations between passengers and staff. However, the situation was calmer on Sunday.
While the IndiGo Airlines counter is usually crowded and has long queues, only a few passengers were seen on Sunday as flights on several major routes, including Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Guwahati, and Chandigarh, were cancelled.
The airport administration stated that the situation is being continuously monitored. Passengers are hoping that flight services will return to normal soon.
The disruption has been caused by IndiGo Airlines pilots being forced to reduce their duty hours. The absence of pilots has led to cancellation of dozens of flights daily, severely impacting the airline’s operations.
Meanwhile , Railways have introduced several special trains from Lucknow, Varanasi and Gorakhpur to cope with the situation while several long distance express trains have been augmented with additional AC 2Tier/ AC 3Tier coaches.
