“Leonie’s Leap: A Liberation Journey” by Italian author and life coach Marzia Pasini is a “tender tale” of one’s journey to healing and belonging.
With a background in philosophy and international politics, the author uses her work to explore themes of self-awakening, courage, and spiritual growth.

“The book tells the tale of a young acrobat’s journey of self-discovery. It is about a leap into the unknown. The book helps us face our fears. It reminds us of what is important, and that we are not alone,” she told The Statesman.
Marzia, who has also written a children’s book “Satya and the Sun”, said her
latest work is not just a self-help book.
“Leonie’s Leap is not just a self-help book. It, however, talks about themes
that are important for the soul. It is a fun and emotionally charged story
that many people can relate to. Although the topics are abstarct, I try to make
them real,” she said.
In the book, a 15-year-old orphan acrobat runs away from his cruel, oppressive orphanage, where his skills as an acrobat are exploited as a means to generate revenue for the orphanage and its matron.
Leonie, the protagonist, is desperate to make his life as a circus trapeze artist and is determined to find his place amongst the high fliers. He is also seeking his mother and wants answers to that most vexing of questions: why was I given up? Why was I not wanted?
Asked about the inspiration behind her writing, Marzia said, “In my late twenties, two life-threatening health crises hit me. I left my career, began training as a life coach, and took the inward plunge. It was then that I saw, more clearly than ever, that the real terrain worth exploring had always been within. Around the same time, I started writing.”
As a woman writer, she said she has tried to bring a new dimension to the book.
“Women have incredible power. We should not allow the society to drain out our voices. We should be able to stand in our truth. Our heart does not need defences or strategies.. it simply is,” she added.
What message does she want to give to those who are down in the gutter and going through a bad phase in their lives?
“I want to say that ground is the place of God. You are truly held, give yourself the permission to feel raw emotions. I feel we should stop being harsh on ourselves,” she added.
Marzia also hoped that her book will resonate with the Indian market.
