To ensure farmers face no inconvenience, the Food and Civil Supplies Department is consistently monitoring the system. Paddy procurement, which began on October 1 in Western Uttar Pradesh and on November 1 in Eastern Uttar Pradesh, is receiving strong support from farmers.
According to data, between October 1 and November 28 (59 days), more than 1.39 lakh farmers sold 8.28 lakh metric tonnes of paddy. Additionally, more than 5.44 lakh farmers have registered for paddy sales. The state has also surpassed its targets by setting up 4,225 procurement centres.
Farmers are selling their produce at the procurement centres and receiving benefits under the Minimum Support Price (MSP) scheme. As of the evening of November 28, paddy procurement has reached 8.28 lakh MT from 1,39,040 farmers. For the procurement season 2025–26, 5,44,502 farmers have registered so far.
The state government has also ensured that farmers receive payments within 48 hours, as directed by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
The Chief Minister had instructed officials to maximise paddy procurement from farmers so they could fully benefit from MSP. The reforms introduced by the Yogi government in the paddy procurement system are now clearly visible at the grassroots level.
The use of e-POP machines for biometric verification, procurement only from registered farmers, the elimination of middlemen, and 48-hour payment processing have made the mandi system more transparent.
Record-level procurement, timely support to rice mills, and farmer-friendly measures have strengthened farmer incomes, trust, and self-reliance. The vision of “Samridhh kisan, Shashakt Uttar Pradesh” is now becoming a reality.
Paddy is being procured at MSP rates of ₹2,369 per quintal for common variety and ₹2,389 per quintal for Grade-A.
Procurement began on October 1 in the districts of Western UP—Meerut, Saharanpur, Bareilly, Moradabad, Agra, Aligarh, Jhansi, and Lucknow divisions (Lakhimpur Kheri, Hardoi, Sitapur).
In Eastern UP Ayodhya, Azamgarh, Kanpur, Chitrakoot, Devipatan, Prayagraj, Gorakhpur, Mirzapur, Basti, Varanasi, and Lucknow divisions (Unnao, Raebareli, Lucknow), paddy procurement started on November 1.
