The team behind ‘Ikkis’, the last film of actor Dharmendra, has released a poem from the movie and it has quickly turned into a wave of love and nostalgia on social media. Maddock Films shared the poem on Instagram on Friday morning presenting it as a special tribute to the late actor.
The newly released clip shows Dharmendra in a deeply emotional moment. His character is seen walking through his old village in Punjab taking in the simple beauty of the place he once called home. The video captures him reliving memories. There are narrow lanes, friendly and familiar faces, familiar corners that shaped his childhood.

The poem reads: “Aj Bhi Ji Karda Hai, Pind Apne Nu Jaanwa”. This means “I still wish to return to my village”.
In the verse, Dharmendra talks about wanting to jump into the village pond again, bathe alongside cattle, play kabaddi with old friends and feel the carefree joy of “pind wali zindagi.”
The poem ends with an emotional line about missing his mother.
Along with the video, the production house added a heartfelt caption. They called Dharmendra a “true son of the soil” and said his words carried the scent and soul of the land he came from. They thanked him for this “timeless verse,” which stands as a tribute not just to the film, but to the man himself.
‘Ikkis’ is going to arrive in cinemas worldwide on December 25, 2025.
Dharmendra passed away on November 24, just days before what would have been his 90th birthday on December 8. His final rites were carried out at the Pawan Hans Crematorium in Vile Parle.
‘Ikkis’ which will mark Dharmendra’s final appearance on the big screen is a war biopic directed by Sriram Raghavan. The film draws inspiration from the life of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal. He was the youngest soldier to receive the Param Vir Chakra. Agastya Nanda plays the lead role joined by Jaideep Ahlawat, Suhasini Mulay, Sikander Kher, Rahul Dev.
