The Uttar Pradesh government has deferred the half-yearly examinations of council schools due to the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list.
According to an official statement issued here on Wednesday, the half-yearly examinations in council schools across the state have been postponed because a large number of teachers have been deployed for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise.

The examinations will now be held between December 10 and 15.

Earlier, the half-yearly examinations were scheduled to be held between November 28 and December 3, but the state government has now announced new dates.
The SIR is being conducted in view of the 2027 Assembly elections in the state, for which a substantial number of teachers have been assigned. The decision to reschedule the exams has been taken due to the non-availability of teachers.
