Bharatiya Janata Party MP Kangana Ranaut on Wednesday slammed Pakistan after its foreign ministry criticised the flag-hoisting ceremony at the Ram Temple, saying the nation has “become a begging bowl.”

Speaking to media persons, Kangana said, “Pakistan is panicking because they are sinking day by day. They have become a begging bowl, and we are the third-largest economy and will soon become the first-largest economy.”

The actor-turned-MP compared the issue of illegal immigrants to cancer and stated that there was a need to sanitise the country of infiltrators.

Kangana’s remarks came after West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s recent statements targeting the Centre over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR).

Mamata Banerjee, addressing an anti-SIR rally in Bongaon, said, “PM Modi got votes in 2024 as per the same list. If your name gets deleted, the Central government should also be deleted. Why is SIR being conducted in such a hurry?”

Kangana said, “The country is not going to be deterred by such threats, and the entire nation wants sanitisation from these infiltrators. Just like cancer occurs in the body, the entire country wants to remove infiltrators.”

Kangana made the statements after attending a Constitution Day event at the Old Parliament Building in New Delhi.

Last month, Kangana had said that opposition parties should not have any problem with the SIR exercise, as it would remove fake voters. The BJP MP added that the exercise would help identify infiltrators and those “selling” voter cards.

Ayodhya witnessed a landmark moment on Tuesday when Prime Minister Narendra Modi ceremonially unfurled the saffron Dharma Dhwaj atop the 161-foot golden spire of the newly constructed Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, marking the completion of the temple’s construction.
