The dessert town of Bikaner sadly mourned the demise of its former Lok Sabha MP and legendary Bollywood star Dharmendra as Governor Haribhau Bagade and Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma led Rajasthan to pay tributes to the “He-Man”.
Monday was indeed a sad day for folks of Bikaner who mourned the death of their second ex – MP within less than two months. Earlier, they lost prominent Jat leader and ex-MP Rameshwar Lal Dudi who died on October 4, 2025 after protracted illness.

Dudi had held the Bikaner Lok Sabha seat for the Congress between 1999 and 2004. It was the formidable challenge from this established Jat leader of the region-Dudi, against which the BJP leadership fielded another Jat, the “Garam Dharam” in the 2004 general elections. Dharmendra had defeated Dudi by a margin of 60,000 votes.
However, in the next election in 2009, Dharamender refused to contest and since 2009 the seat has been held by Union Minister Arjun Lal Meghwal.
Expressing grief and shock over the predecessor’s death the Minister said the Actor-cum-leader DharamJi by simplicity in his behavior and effective roles in cinema had won the hearts of millions of strangers, commoners, his fans and followers. Meghwal prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and strength to bear the loss to the bereaved family.
Governor Bagade described the actor’s demise as an irreparable loss to the cinema industry. Condoling the death, Bagade has prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.
Chief Minister Sharma expressed shock over the sad demise of the Padam Bhushan awardee cine star who also served Bikaner as an MP for 5 years. He prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.
His predecessor Gehlot also expressed deep grief and sorrow over the passing away of DharamJi who won the hearts of crores of cinema goers by impressive and effective roles in his prolonged film career.
