The Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) Jammu sub zonal office on Monday said it has attached immovable property worth ₹1 crore belonging to Vidit Healthcare Pvt. Ltd. under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). The provisionally attached property comprises industrial land in Panipat, Haryana.

The ED initiated investigation against the company based in Sirmour, Himachal Pradesh based on a case registered by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in Jammu against Vidit Healthcare (and its Managing Partner, Neeraj Bhatia), Niket Kansal, and others. They are accused of the illegal diversion of a codeine-based cough syrup (CBCS) named “Cocrex” for misuse as an intoxicant.

The ED’s investigation revealed that between 2018 and 2024, Vidit Healthcare supplied CBCS worth approximately 16.74 crore to entities operated and controlled by Niket Kansal. These entities include S S Industries, Kansal Industries, Nouveta Pharma, Kansal Pharmaceuticals, and N.K Pharmaceuticals. A portion of this illegally diverted CBCS was supplied to Raees Ahmed Bhat of Srinagar, from whom the NCB seized large quantities of the syrup on January 14, 2024.

The probe further found that Vidit Healthcare earned an estimated gross profit of Rs 2.92 crore as proceeds of crime from these sales.

Earlier in this case, the ED conducted searches on February 13, 2025, at the premises of Neeraj Bhatia and Niket Kansal. This led to the seizure of cash amounting to Rs 32 lakh and jewellery valued at Rs 1.61 crore from Bhatia’s residence.
