Amid news of veteran actor Dharmendra’s demise, Bollywood is gearing up for a heartfelt tribute to one of India’s youngest war heroes. The film ‘Ikkis’, starring Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya Nanda, is going to hit theatres on December 25. The makers recently unveiled a poster featuring Dharmendra, who plays the father of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal.

Produced by Maddock Films under Dinesh Vijan and directed by acclaimed filmmaker Sriram Raghavan, Ikkis is written by Raghavan along with Arijit Biswas and Pooja Ladha Surti.
The film brings to the big screen the untold story of Arun Khetarpal, India’s youngest Param Vir Chakra awardee. The poster shared on Instagram read: “Fathers raise sons. Legends raise nations. Dharmendra ji, an emotional powerhouse as the father of a 21-year-old immortal soldier. One timeless legend brings us the story of another.”
The makers also added, “On 25th December, bravery marches into cinemas. Witness the untold true story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, India’s youngest Param Vir Chakra hero. #IkkisTrailerOutNow #Ikkis in cinemas worldwide this Christmas.”
Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal PVC (14 October 1950 – 16 December 1971) was a young tank commander in the Indian Army, remembered as a true hero of the Indo-Pak war of 1971. Khetarpal has 10 confirmed tank kills under his credit. He displayed extraordinary bravery during the Battle of Basantar. This was where he martyred at just 21 years old. For his unmatched courage, he was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra, India’s highest military honour.
Agastya Nanda, who made his acting debut with The Archies (2023), takes on the role of Arun Khetarpal, bringing the young soldier’s valour and emotion to life. Late actor Dharmendra portrays his father. The cast also includes talented actors Jaideep Ahlawat and Sikander Kher.
