Over 50 crore electors receive enumeration forms in 12 States/UTs: ECI

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has reported that over 50 crore electors have received enumeration forms as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) Phase II of electoral rolls. This phase, which began on November 4, 2025, and will continue until December 4, 2025, aims to update voter details through door-to-door verification.

The states and UTs involved in this phase include Andaman & Nicobar, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Kerala, Lakshadweep, Madhya Pradesh, Puducherry, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal. The ECI has mobilised 5.33 lakh Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and 10.41 lakh Booth Level Agents (BLAs) to ensure the process is carried out efficiently.

As regards the distribution status, Goa and Lakshadweep have achieved 100 per cent distribution, while Uttar Pradesh has distributed 15.33 crore forms (99.29 per cent), Madhya Pradesh has distributed 5.72 crore forms (99.69 per cent), West Bengal has distributed 7.63 crore forms (99.64 per cent).

The ECI has urged recognised political parties to appoint more BLAs to ensure transparency during household verification. The final electoral rolls are expected to be published on February 7, 2026.
