Actor and former ‘Bigg Boss’ contestant Ajaz Khan started his Saturday on a note of regret. Standing before the Crime Branch in Indore, he offered a public apology for a video he had posted online.

In the video, Ajaz explained that he deleted the clip the moment he realised he had been misinformed. He said, “Mujhe galat fehmi ho gayi thi… I had no knowledge at all. Kuch influencers ke messages aaye… it was a mistake.” He added that he respects the law, handed over his mobile phone to investigators, and cooperated fully with the officers.

But the apology comes only after the actor found himself in serious legal trouble.

Why the FIR was filed

The Indore Crime Branch confirmed that an FIR had been registered against Ajaz Khan for spreading what they described as fake and objectionable content on social media. The case stems from a video he posted shortly after the death of gangster Salman Lala.

In that video, Ajaz suggested that Lala, an experienced swimmer, could not have drowned and alleged that he was targeted because of his religion, claims that police strongly deny.

Additional DCP (Crime) Rajesh Dandotiya explained that the video contained statements serious enough to trigger legal action.

According to Dandotiya, Ajaz spent around three hours at the Crime Branch office answering questions. “Legal action has been taken as per procedure,” he said.

A pattern of trouble online

This is not the first time Ajaz Khan has found himself at the centre of controversy because of his social media activity. Earlier this year, an FIR was filed against him for posting offensive and defamatory content about a YouTuber and his family. The complaint stated that the video included obscene gestures, derogatory remarks and false accusations.

In October, the Delhi High Court granted him anticipatory bail in that case on the condition that he furnish a bond of ₹30,000 and provide one surety. Even then, the court had noted the seriousness of the allegations.
