No priest, women perform Kali Puja in Siliguri
The managing committee of the Ashram’s Siliguri branch has also roped in people from all communities and religions like Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Buddhism, and Jainism.
The renowned Sabarimala Ayyappa Temple in Kerala opened on Sunday for the auspicious Mandala-Makaravilakku pilgrimage season.
In the presence of Thantri Kandar Mahesh Mohanar, the current Melshanthi, Arunkumar Namboothiri, opened the temple at 5 pm and lit the ceremonial lamp. Following the ritual, devotees were allowed to climb the Pathinattam Padi (18 steps) and have darshan at the temple.

The pilgrimage begins on Monday with the start of the Malayalam month of Vrischikam. The virtual queue system is active, and spot-booking counters are all set.

The temple will remain open until 27 December for the Mandala Pooja. The shrine will open again on 30 December, and darshan will be allowed until 20th January for the Makaravilakku festival. On 20 January, the temple will be closed after the Makaravilakku festival.
The Sabarimala Shri Ayyappa temple is one of the most ancient and prominent Sastha temples in the country, located in the Western Ghats mountain ranges in Kerala’s Pathanamthitta district.
Devotees throng the shrine especially during the main pilgrimage season, from mid-November to mid-January. The two most important events of the pilgrimage are the Mandala Pooja and the Makaravilakku.
