Delhi Congress president Devender Yadav on Sunday claimed that during the last 12 years of the BJP and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) rule in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), the situation in the unauthorized colonies, resettlement colonies, and JJ clusters exposed the inefficiency, deceit, and opportunism of the two parties.
He accused the parties of allegedly looting and destroying the civic body while making false promises to the citizens.

Disappointed by the hollow claims of the AAP and the saffron party, Yadav claims people of the city are now looking at the Congress with hope and confidence in the upcoming by-elections to the 12 MCD wards.
The Congress leader said now, the voters have become more alert and have made up their minds to elect those who work for public welfare.
Sharpening his attack on the AAP, he alleged that its leaders badly treated the poor slum dwellers of Delhi for over 11 years, and for the last several months, the present regime is also caring for the slum dwellers.
Yadav inaugurated the election office of Suresh Chaudhary, Congress candidate from Ward No. 163, Sangam Vihar-A for the MCD by-election, claiming that the people of Sangam Vihar have put up with the misrule of the AAP and hence are looking for a change and are looking forward to the Congress candidate.
He said the people have been coming up to him and stating that all the drains and roads, community centres and other such civic infrastructure was built during the tenure of the then CM Sheila Dikshit, but after that governments turned a blind eye on such issues.
