Bad weather forces Rahul to cancel Almora rally, return to Delhi
Congress MP and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi's Almora rally was cancelled on Thursday owing to bad weather conditions in the Kumaon region.

With the NDA racing towards a landslide win in Bihar and the opposition Mahagathbandhan trailing far behind, the Congress party has issued its first reaction, with senior party leader Pawan Khera slamming the Election Commission of India and CEC Gyanesh Kumar.
Speaking to reporters in Delhi, Khera took a dig, saying the Chief Election Commissioner appears to be making an impact on the election in Bihar.

“This is just the beginning, and we are waiting. The trends show (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar Gupta is making an impact on the people of Bihar,” Khera said.

The Congress leader referred to the EC-conducted Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Bihar and said the people had shown great courage despite SIR and ‘vote chori’ to come out and vote. He further suggested that the fight in Bihar is now between the Election Commission and the people of the state.

“How effective Gyanesh Kumar Gupta will be remains to be seen. This contest is between the Election Commission of India and the people of Bihar. There was a book called ‘To Serve with Love.’ Gyanesh Kumar Gupta is writing this book for PM Modi,” Khera said, taking a dig.
It may be recalled that the Opposition had opposed the SIR exercise in Bihar, alleging it was done in a manner to benefit the ruling National Democratic Alliance.
The Mahagathbandhan, especially Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, levelled serious allegations of voter fraud against both the poll panel as well as the ruling BJP at the Centre, holding several press conferences where ‘evidence’ was released before the media.
The ECI had rejected all allegations, providing counter evidence to debunk the Opposition’s claim.
