Following the incident, the police registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and launched an investigation. During the investigation, officers scanned footage from multiple CCTV cameras in the area and conducted thorough field inquiries to identify the vehicle involved in the accident.
“Through a detailed technical analysis, we identified a car with Uttar Pradesh registration plates as the vehicle involved in the incident,” stated a senior police officer.
After obtaining the vehicle’s ownership details, the police issued a notice under Section 133 of the Motor Vehicles Act to the registered owner of the car, Harshit Mehta (24), from Agra. The accused subsequently appeared at the police station and confessed to his involvement in the accident. The vehicle was also produced and seized by authorities.
The investigation into the case is underway.
