Accusing Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal of using Chandigarh-based Punjab Chief Minister’s Camp Office bungalow for his personal use, Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva Friday demanded an explanation for the same.

According to a statement issued here, Sachdeva said that the entire AAP’s leadership becomes restless and begins making baseless statements whenever any new revelation emerges about Kejriwal’s fondness for bungalows.

“As soon as AAP MP Swati Maliwal and several Punjab-based social media influencers — followed by Delhi BJP’s official social media handles — exposed that the Punjab government had allotted a 2-acre bungalow as the Punjab Chief Minister’s Camp Office but had indirectly handed it over to Arvind Kejriwal for personal use, AAP leaders became rattled,” he said.

He further added that following the reveal, Kejriwal, who is presently campaigning in Gujarat, promptly instructed Delhi AAP chief Saurabh Bharadwaj to respond, following which Bharadwaj made unfounded claims, arguing illogically that since Chandigarh is governed by the BJP, it must clarify how the bungalow came into existence.

“BJP never claimed the bungalow was newly constructed. “We repeat — according to our information, the large Chandigarh bungalow is officially recorded as the Punjab Chief Minister’s Camp Office but is actually being used by Arvind Kejriwal. VIP movement records from Punjab and Delhi Police will also confirm this,” clarified Sachdeva.

The BJP leader further said that Bharadwaj, who naively denies the bungalow allotment, must explain whether the 5 Feroz Shah Road bungalow — where Arvind Kejriwal stayed illegally after vacating the “Sheesh Mahal” — was officially allotted to him.

“The people of Delhi and the entire country want to know from Arvind Kejriwal: if he indeed does not use the Chandigarh bungalow, then why doesn’t he seek a reply from AAP MP Ms Swati Maliwal, who first raised the issue?” he asked.
