The Delhi Police marked Rashtriya Ekta Diwas on October 31 by organising a series of events across the capital to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The day was observed with various activities aimed at promoting national unity, integrity, and security.
Ceremonies were held at all police stations where officers and staff took a pledge to uphold the unity and integrity of the nation. A major highlight was the “Run for Unity” organised simultaneously across all police stations in Delhi, with seven major events held across the six territorial ranges and the Transport Range.

In the Central Range, the run was held at DDU Park, with Special Commissioner of Police Ravindra Singh Yadav and cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal in attendance, drawing 800-1000 participants. The Northern Range event at New Police Lines Kingsway Camp was graced by Olympic bronze medalist wrestler Aman Sehrawat.
The Eastern Range held its event at Yamuna Sports Complex, Vivek Vihar, with actor and Padma Shri awardee Manoj Joshi as the chief guest. The Southern Range event at Qutub Minar was attended by India TV Chairman Rajat Sharma and Special Commissioner Madhup Tewari.
New Delhi Range’s run was graced by MLA Kailash Gahlot, Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS) Director Dr S K Sarin, and legendary cricketer Madan Lal. The Western Range event was flagged off by Olympic silver medalist wrestler Ravi Kumar Dahiya, with 350 participants, including students and police personnel. The Transport Range event in Aerocity saw participation from 750 people, including CISF personnel.
Additional activities included tree plantation drives at police stations and educational institutions, and photo exhibitions highlighting the life and contributions of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The events witnessed enthusiastic participation from police personnel, students, and community members, all coming together to celebrate the ideals of national unity and collective strength.
