Sitapur district has emerged as the top performer in Uttar Pradesh’s ongoing farmer registration campaign, with 74.58 percent of its farmers registered so far. Basti ranks second with 74.24 percent, while Rampur stands third at 70 percent, officials said on Saturday.

Officials said that starting April 1, 2026, only farmers with completed registrations will be eligible to receive the next instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme. In view of this, the government has intensified both registration and verification efforts across all districts.

The state government has directed district magistrates to organize farmer registration camps in every village by November 30, prepare detailed camp schedules, and share them with the state headquarters. District authorities have also been instructed to expedite the PM-KISAN verification process to ensure timely release of funds.
At present, about 4,000 farmers are being registered daily. The government aims to complete registration and verification of all eligible farmers by the end of November, ensuring that no beneficiary is left out of the upcoming PM-KISAN instalment.
