A woman doctor committed suicide in Maharashtra’s Satara on Friday with a note scribbled on her hand alleging that she was raped by a police official and two others, police said.
Following the death of the 29-year-old doctor, the police have registered a case against the accused on the charges of rape and abetment to suicide.

Satara Superintendent of Police Tushar Doshi said Police Sub-Inspector Gopal Badane named in the suicide note has been suspended.
“A woman doctor committed suicide. A note was found written on her palm naming two people, including a police official. A case has been registered against them under charges of rape and abetment to suicide. The accused PSI has been suspended from duty. Our teams are trying to locate the two accused. A thorough probe and stringent action will be taken,” the Satara SP told reporters.
He said police teams have been formed to nab the two other accused who are absconding.
Meanwhile, the victim’s cousin alleged that the doctor faced pressure from politicians to conduct fake post-mortems.
“There was a lot of police and political pressure on her to make wrong post-mortem reports. She tried to complain about it. My sister should get justice,” news agency ANI quoted her cousin as saying.
“The accused should get the strictest of punishment,” demanded another relative of the deceased doctor.
