The innovation was spearheaded by Chandigarh-based professional golfer Gurbaaz Mann, with active support from Siddhartha Kumar, Vice President, Chandigarh Golf Association (CGA) and under the mentorship of the CGA Golf Academy. The Pinakin Wedge System is the result of extensive research, development, and on-course testing.

Notably, in golf, wedges are specialized iron clubs with the highest loft and shortest shaft, primarily used for short-distance shots such as approaches, chips, and bunker plays. Professional golfer Gurbaaz Mann, known for his deep understanding of golf equipment and expertise in club fitting, is also a Co-Founder at Pinakin.

According to Mann, “The ultimate test for any club is performance. We engineered this modular system to offer players the flexibility to perform better in varying turf conditions. Whether it’s a firm fairway or soft sand, our system allows for precise adjustments that translate directly to a stronger short game.”

Each club head is crafted to exacting standards, representing a seamless blend of modern design principles and meticulous attention to detail.

Akshay Uppal, Co-Founder, Pinakin, adds, “From day one, our mission has been to challenge the status quo. We are not just refining existing designs; we are pioneering the use of alternative, new-age materials to unlock a new level of performance. This wedge is proof of how innovative materials science can create a club that delivers both superior feel and measurable results.”

He further notes that the company’s vision extends beyond the club itself, “We are also developing an AI-based module for player swing analysis and correction — integrating technology to elevate every aspect of the game.”

Satyam Talwar, Co-Founder, Pinakin, shares, “India has world-class talent — not just on the course but also in metallurgy and engineering. Our wedge proves that breakthrough innovation can emerge from Indian soil and compete on a global stage.”
