In a new interview on the ‘Call Her Daddy’ podcast, Victoria spoke honestly about her relationship with David especially during the stormy period in 2004 when former nanny Rebecca Loos claimed she had an affair with the football icon.

“We’ve had so much thrown at us,” Victoria said. “We were just talking about it recently because we celebrated our 26th wedding anniversary and people said it wouldn’t last. Twenty-six years later, here we are.”

“We’ve had so much thrown at us, but we’ve always just been there together and ridden the storm,” she continued.
That “storm” was one of the hardest times in their marriage, something David himself reflected on in his 2023 Netflix docuseries ‘Beckham’. “I don’t know how we got through it, in all honesty,” he said in the show. “Victoria means everything to me. To see her hurt was incredibly difficult. But we’re fighters. And at that time, we needed to fight for each other and for our family. What we had was worth fighting for.”

Victoria didn’t sugarcoat her feelings about that chapter either. She called it “the hardest period” of their relationship. “It felt like the world was against us,” she admitted. “And here’s the truth. We were against each other too, if I’m being completely honest.”
Meanwhile, Rebecca Loos has maintained her version of events over the years. Explaining why she spoke out, she once said she wanted “some control” over the story. “It wasn’t about revenge,” she claimed, “but the way he treated me was unfair, and he was living a two-faced life.”
Victoria said in a 2018 interview that she and David have grown used to the constant gossip. “People have been making things up about our relationship for 20 years,” she shared. “David and I are pretty used to ignoring the nonsense and just carrying on as normal.”
