Today, 26 Special trains (8 from New Delhi, three from Delhi Jn., nine from Anand Vihar Terminal, three from Hazrat Nizamuddin, one from Shakurbasti, one from Shamli, and one from Rohtak) were scheduled to originate from the major stations of Delhi area apart from two passing Special trains.

Based on the monitoring of the rush of passengers at the major stations of Delhi area, two unscheduled Special trains (New Delhi-Darbhanga and Anand Vihar Terminal-Bhagalpur) were planned and run today (upto 14 hrs.).

DRM, ADRMs and senior officers were monitoring the crowd at the major stations.

Meanwhile, in view of the heavy rush due to Diwali festival and the upcoming festival of Chhath, sale of platform tickets has been temporarily stopped at five major Delhi-NCR stations–New Delhi, Delhi Jn, Hazrat Nizamuddin, Anand Vihar Terminal, and Ghaziabad Railway Stations from October 15 to 28.

“However, persons accompanying senior citizens/divyangjans/illiterate/lady passengers may approach the Enquiry Office for platform tickets,” Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay, Chief Public Relations Officer, Northern Railway, said on October 15.
