Sandosh Kumar P, the Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, has called for an independent and transparent investigation into the death of Anandu Aji, a young IT professional from Kerala, and the serious allegations of sexual abuse he made against members of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). In a letter addressed to Justice V Ramasubramaniam, Chairperson of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), Kumar urged immediate intervention by the Commission.
“The tragic death of Mr Anandu Aji, coupled with his final social media post exposing repeated sexual abuse by multiple RSS functionaries, demands urgent and thorough scrutiny,” he wrote. “His testimony indicates not just an isolated incident but points toward a deeper, organized pattern of exploitation within certain sections of the RSS.”

The letter emphasizes the gravity of the accusations and calls for the constitution of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) or the appointment of an appropriate agency to conduct a time-bound probe into both the circumstances of Aji’s death and the broader allegations of sexual coercion within the organization.
Kumar stressed, “All individuals named by the deceased must be investigated, and measures must be taken to protect witnesses, maintain confidentiality, and provide psychological support to survivors who may come forward.”
He further noted that the inquiry should not only identify criminal culpability but also examine possible systemic abuse, intimidation, and institutional shielding within the RSS and its affiliated bodies.
This appeal comes amid growing public concern over the functioning and internal culture of organizations operating with limited transparency. Kumar’s letter to the NHRC is a strong call for accountability and justice, reflecting India’s commitment to protecting human rights and ensuring that power does not shield perpetrators of sexual violence.
The National Human Rights Commission is now expected to consider the matter and take swift action to uphold justice for the victims and restore public confidence.
