As many as three people were killed and two others seriously injured in a road accident when the ill-fated car they were travelling in skidded off the road and crashed into a divider on the national highway on the outskirts of Odisha’s Bargarh district headquarters town in the early hours of Thursday, police said.

As many as three people were killed and two others seriously injured in a road accident when the ill-fated car they were travelling in skidded off the road and crashed into a divider on the national highway on the outskirts of Odisha’s Bargarh district headquarters town in the early hours of Thursday, police said.
Locals and police personnel rushed to the spot to rescue two occupants trapped inside the badly-mangled car. Three more occupants were declared received dead at the district headquarters hospital, police added.

Besides, the driver of the car, who was driving at breakneck speed, might have possibly dozed off leading to the mishap. There is a hint of ‘sleep’ in the accident, police said, adding that an unnatural death case has been registered in this connection.
