The upcoming meeting between the two sides is expected to help share crucial evidence, including forensic reports, autopsy findings, and digital data, which may shed light on what exactly led to the artist’s untimely death.

Over the past few weeks, public anger has spilled onto the streets in several parts of Assam, particularly in Baksa district, where a protest seeking justice for Zubeen turned violent.

Police later said the situation had been brought under control, but emotions continue to run high. Many fans and social organizations have urged the government to ensure that no stone is left unturned in uncovering the truth.

Zubeen’s wife, Garima Saikia Garg, has appealed for peace, saying that violence would only dishonour his memory.

Political reactions have also begun to surface, with several leaders extending solidarity to the grieving family. Trinamool Congress leader Dulu Ahmed has filed a complaint in Singapore, seeking a parallel investigation, while Congress MP Rahul Gandhi is expected to visit Guwahati to pay tribute to the late singer.

For the people of Assam, Zubeen was more than just a musician. His songs carried the heartbeat of the Assamese identity, his voice echoed through festivals, protests, and celebrations alike, and his personality bridged generations.
