She said the Centre has increased the MSP of various food grains and pulses.
Earlier, the Finance Minister had interacted with interns of the Prime Minister Internship Scheme (PMIS) at Hampi. The session brought together over 60 interns from across the state along with representatives from leading partner companies including Infosys, MSPL, IBM, TCS, Tata Consumer Products, Bharat Electronics Limited, Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals, HAL, NMDC, and Honeywell Technology Solutions.
She also commended the interns for their dedication and emphasised the importance of adaptability in today’s evolving workplace.
“It is pleasing to know the different ways in which this internship is contributing to personality development. Interns are learning core aspects of work and also sharpening other skills such as overcoming barriers to communication,” she added.
Sitharaman also visited the historic Virupaksha temple at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Hampi.
“I am proud of Hampi’s history, but I am equally painful to know about the level of destruction that occurred in this area; It is now for all of us to restore the monuments and temples to their glory. As it is an UNESCO-recognised area and I understand the ASI is also doing a lot of work here,” the minister said.
“Krishna Deva Raya was a wonderful king who knew his people. The way he built the kingdom for the prosperity of everybody is an example for any modern-day administration. More important is that we have to retain this place in all its glory,” she added.
