The incident took place at the residence of one Nasir, a known firecracker dealer, where a mini firecracker factory had reportedly been operating illegally.

Eyewitnesses reported hearing 12 consecutive loud explosions within the span of five minutes, causing the roof of the house to blow off and walls to collapse. The impact also caused cracks in the walls of at least five neighboring houses.
According to neighbors, an LPG cylinder inside the house also exploded, leading to maximum structural damage.

Locals rushed to the scene upon hearing the deafening blasts, audible up to one kilometer away. They found the house in ruins, with Nasir’s family members trapped under the debris. Firecrackers and raw materials such as gunpowder and sutli bombs were strewn across the house.

Police and fire brigade teams arrived shortly after receiving information and began rescue operations. The injured were rushed to Jayasinghpur Community Health Center (CHC), with five of the critically injured being referred to the district hospital.

The critically injured include Nasir’s wife Jamatul Nisha (60), sons Noor Mohammad (25), Kaif (18), Sahil (10), and daughter Khushi Bano (20). Seven others injured are the neighbors who were affected by the blast’s impact.

Nasir, who obtained a license for firecracker production during Diwali, reportedly did not renew his license this year. The production was being carried out illegally.

Circle Officer RK Chaturvedi, along with officers from multiple police stations, is overseeing the rescue and investigation operations. Authorities are currently removing debris and verifying whether any legal permissions were granted for the storage and manufacturing of explosives.
