If there’s one thing Victoria Beckham knows, it’s what it’s like to live under the spotlight and now, she’s asking the world to ease that glare on her children. The former Spice Girl, turned fashion mogul, recently spoke to ‘The Sun’ while promoting her new Netflix docuseries ‘Victoria Beckham’. During the conversation, she weighed in on the internet’s favorite buzzword: “nepo babies.”
The term, short for “nepotism babies” refers to children of famous parents who often face backlash for having an “easy” start in life. But for Victoria, it’s not that simple.

“I feel sorry for these kids that are considered nepo babies,” she said. “The kids are simply the kids of their parents. It’s not their fault. Give them a chance.”
She made her point with her 20-year-old son, Cruz Beckham, in mind who like his mother is chasing a career in music. “He taught himself to play about seven instruments. He writes his own songs, he’s put a band together,” she shared proudly. “He’s properly done it from the grass roots up.”
When the interviewer suggested Cruz wasn’t a “traditional nepo baby,” Victoria smiled and replied, “But he is a nepo.” Still, she stood by her son’s effort, saying, “Let the music speak for itself before you judge.”
The Beckhams are, of course, no strangers to fame. Victoria and her husband, football legend David Beckham, have been married since 1999 and are parents to Brooklyn (26), Romeo (23), Cruz (20), and Harper (14). Each of them has grown up in the public eye, and some have pursued creative careers of their own.
But Victoria believes kindness should come before criticism. “It is fine to be ambitious,” she said. “But it is more important to be kind.”
