Bokaro Police, in coordination with CRPF 154 Battalion and Jharkhand Jaguar, recovered two self-loading rifles (SLRs), 233 rounds of ammunition, and other related materials from Murpa forest in Chatrochatti police station area following a disclosure by a surrendered Maoist.
Police sources said Bhola Koda alias Rohit Koda alias Vikash Da had recently surrendered to Munger Police in Bihar. During interrogation by Hazaribagh Police, he revealed that after a previous encounter in Birhor Dera jungle, he and his associates had buried two SLRs and magazines near a bamboo grove in Murpa to avoid seizure by security forces.

Acting on this information, IG, Coal Field Range, directed a coordinated search operation involving Hazaribagh Police, Bokaro Police, Jharkhand Jaguar, and CRPF 154 Battalion. The team recovered 2 SLR rifles, 1 empty LMG magazine, 5 empty SLR magazines, 233 live rounds, 2 magazine pouches, 3 full-through rounds, and other daily-use materials.
The police confirmed that other Maoists, including Pravez Da, Chanchal Da, Vishan Da, and Raju, managed to escape during the earlier encounter.
Bhola Koda, aged around 21, son of Manoj Koda of Paisra village, Ladiyatand PS, Munger, Bihar, is implicated in multiple cases under IPC, Arms Act, Explosive Substances Act, and UAPA across Bihar and Jharkhand.
The operation team included Pawan Kumar, SDPO Barkagaon; Jitendra Kumar, Gomia, Tenughat, Bokaro; Abhinav Anand, Second Commanding Officer, CRPF 154; Deepak Kumar Rana, OC, Chatrochatti; Janu Kumar, OC, Ango; and Krishan Kumar Gupta, OC, Barkagaon.
Police described the operation as a significant step in weakening Maoist logistics in the coalfield region. Investigations are ongoing to apprehend other absconding members.
