A major joint operation was carried out on Monday morning in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, by teams from the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Income Tax Department (IT), and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
The raids targeted prominent meat businessmen Haji Imran and Haji Irfan, owners of Indian Frozen Foods, who reportedly run a meat export business worth over Rs 1,000 crore across three states, including Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh.

Over 100 officers and personnel arrived in Sambhal in a convoy of 70 vehicles around 6 am to launch simultaneous raids on the residences and factories of both brothers. Security was tight, with the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) deployed to maintain law and order during the high-profile operation.
Key locations raided included Haji Irfan’s residence in the Bhura locality of Sarai Tarin, under Hayatnagar police station limits, and the Indian Frozen Foods factory in Chimiyawali village, under the Sambhal Kotwali police station. Additionally, the homes of four employees of the company were also searched.
The teams reportedly came from Delhi. The coordinated action marks a significant move by federal agencies to crack down on alleged financial irregularities and potential violations in the meat export business. Further details on findings or possible arrests have not yet been disclosed, as the operation remains ongoing.
