Odisha CM demands exemplary action

Odisha chief minister Mohan Charan Majhi condemned the Durgapur gang-rape incident.

He urged West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee to take exemplary action against the perpetrators. In a social media post Mr Manjhi described the incident as unfortunate.

The Odisha CM has directed senior officials to take all necessary steps in coordination with the West Bengal government. The Odisha government will extend every possible assistance and support to the victim’s family, he said.
